JOB SUMMARY Inspects and receives cargo to protect the interest of Tropical and its customers. Verifies that cargo meets Tropical’s minimum requirements for cargo acceptance. Notifies Supervisor / Crew Leader for problem resolution when cargo does not meet Tropical requirements. Measures and documents the shipment’s size, type and characteristics along with complete written record of any discrepancies. Applies proper Tropical labels, according to cargo marks and paperwork, and enters correct data in the warehouse management system, preparing cargo for putaway. Operates a forklift as part of the receiving, stripping, or putaway processes. Reviews, evaluates, recommends, implements, and maintains operating systems, servers, storage and networking hardware and software and cloud technologies.JOB SCOPENo supervisory or budgetary responsibilitiesPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMaintains a knowledge base of current and developing server, network, cloud and security technologies. Assists staff members with research pertaining to the components that comprise the client/server network. Designs, develops, installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots the physical and virtual server infrastructure including disaster recovery, high availability and load balancing solutions. Designs and implements configurations and topologies to achieve peak system performance.Coordinates the implementation and setup of new client/server networks. Performs a site survey to assess the physical aspects involved in designing a new client/server network.
