Position Description:

This position is responsible for the managing the day-to-day activities of technicians to ensure repairs are completed safely and timely.

Responsibilities:

· Performs supervisory responsibilities to effectively manage personnel including interviewing, hiring, firing, developing, planning, assigning work, coaching, disciplining, addressing and resolving complaints

· Confers with fleet and other administrative personnel regarding terminal functions and equipment needs

· Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt

· Processes shop work orders to ensure timely completion of equipment repairs

· Assists drivers with repair write ups and addresses concerns as needed

· Coordinates with vendors to schedule warranty work

· Overseers parts procurement in order to maintain appropriate inventory levels and to control consumables

· Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and company policies and procedures

· Researches, compiles, updates, presents, and tracks spreadsheets and reports

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

· Perform work requiring advanced knowledge while consistently exercising discretion and judgement

· Demonstrates effective leadership

· Communicates effectively both oral and written

· Must have adequate tools to the perform the job

· Solve problems and makes decisions independently and proactively

· Managers multiple priorities and deadlines

· Knowledgeable of Federal DOT Guidelines

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other software programs

· Ability to lift up-to 75 lbs.

· Valid driver’s license, CDL preferred

· Must be able to pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Check

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years related experience and/ or training

· 5 + years of managerial or supervisory experience of a diesel repair shop

· ASE Diesel Certification

· PACCAR experience

Work Environment:

The nature of the working environment is one which the employee may come encounter outside weather conditions, vibration, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or heat, and excessive noise levels.
