Asst Operations Controller

JOB SUMMARY Completes the day end vessel loading plan including supplying the Finals, Baplie and Dangerous Cargo Manifest (DCM) reports. Completes Baplie process for inbound and outbound vessel voyages which include closing vessels in XPS and N4, Arranges berthing windows for outport locations working directly with Port Managers to arrange labor and berthing times.  Manages Vessel string and inventories at all port locations with current and future voyages based on cargo and empty equipment evacuations.  Maintains and assigns POW’s   ( Points of Work ) based on work assignments and crew availability working directly with the Operations managers. Reconciles inventories against T Link and ensures accuracy of both systems. Arrives, departs vessels in the system while setting up crews and Freight handling equipment necessary for the work load based on scheduled departure times. Performs operational follow up as relates to ship files to ensure the next port in the rotation have been notified and keeps control center advised of plans. Ensures all ports and vessels receive their proper EDI files for vessel stowage and operations. Maintains and corrects improvement of vessel stowage and Terminal Operations software as needed.    JOB SCOPENo supervisory or budgetary responsibilitiesPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvides planning recommendations and coordinates terminal planning activity (vessel arrivals and departures, stevedoring crew assignments, etc.) with stevedoring managers and supervisors. Ensures terminal computer system reflects current operations plan.Plans and prepares all port vessel discharges and backloads in terminal operating system.Coordinates load planning with service coordinators. Ensures booking modifications and ads/pulls are managed according to demands and vessel capacity.Updates loading and discharging plans as required, Refreshes terminal operating system. Communicates updates to stevedoring staff. Creates proper stow of containers to achieve proper trim and stability on all vessels.  Reviews stowage plans with vessel captains.Monitors terminal operating system (strad, crane, checker and jockey programs) and takes appropriate action to ensure proper system accuracy and performance. Responsible for management of vessel port calls and timely loading and unloading of vessels to maintain schedule integrity and adequate equipment supply to meet the demands of internal and external customers.Creates and distributes to all terminals and stevedores the most optimal and efficient vessel stow plan which takes into account all the principals of vessel storage, stabilizing, utilization and port restrictions utilizing pertinent freight handling equipment and cargo booking information from computer software systems, vessel personnel, and port personnel.Manages and monitors the integration of EDI communications and capabilities for vessel stowage data into the T-Link system.Identifies opportunities for operational improvements in ports to initiate continuous improvement projects to drive improved results.Monitors and adjusts N4/XPS systems reconciling plans versus actuals during discharge and vessel loading.Performs all other related duties as requested.MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Transportation or in a related field.EXPERIENCE: One to three years experience in vessel stowage or vessel terminal operations in a maritime shipping business.LICENSE: Valid local driver’s license. Senior Communications Engineer

Primary  focus is the design, planning, operation, security, and day to day management of the organization’s multinational network, including switches, routers, firewalls and other network connected equipment..  This involves implementation, maintenance and support of all data networks and administration, monitoring, troubleshooting and remediation of LAN, WAN, and wireless connectivity. No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities.Performs routing analysis on the design and efficiency of the infrastructure to ensure it is current and that future structure will meet business needs.  Review, recommend and implement products and services to maximize system security, manageability, performance and reliability.Communicates with internal clients on complex and difficult telecommunication requests to identify and analyze needs, make recommendations, and coordinate implementation.Act as project coordinator for technical projects of moderate complexity in such areas as integrated voice and data, local and wide area networks, wireless systems and related infrastructure.Prepare operational reports including project status, equipment, network, inventory and activity summaries; develop and maintain system and procedural documentation.Identifies, recommends, performs and implements applicable hardware and software changes for telephone, software groups, system parameters, and class of service.  Coordinates with vendor technical support resources as appropriate.Monitors system status and initiates problem resolution as necessary, and manages service outage incidents to minimize downtime.Assist in developing complex technical specifications for the design or purchase of communications equipment including fiber optic systems, high-speed data and Internet, voice or data switches and routers, firewalls, wifi, and related equipment; JOB SUMMARY Responsible for the operation of the top lifter and jockey truck to facilitate vessel operations.  Interchange all containers in Port.  Maintain gate logs and update the company cargo tracking system.  Assist in stripping Less Than Container Load(LCL) cargo. Prepare demurrage bills.  Also responsible for the maintenance of the jockey truck and maintenance of the top lifter in the absence of the mechanic.C. JOB SCOPENo supervisory or budgetary responsibilitiesD. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOperate the top lifter to unload the vessel.  Spot containers discharged from the vessel and load containers onto the ship. Discharge loaded containers onto chassis for customer pickup.Maintain accurate interchange information for containers in and out of the gate.  Log condition of container and chassis, loaded seals, voyage number and Bill of Lading date and obtain signature of trucker for all interchange moves.  Update company computerized cargo tracking system with interchange information.Collects information for the preparation of demurrage bills and provides information to the party responsible for preparing the bills.Conduct equipment inventory audit monthly and report discrepancies to Equipment Management DepartmentPrepare and submits weekly out turn report.Perform preventative maintenance on jockey truck and documents information on standard pre-check form.Accurately maintain s weekly container totals for the Island Operations Manager to verify the British Virgin Island Port Authority surcharge bills.  Backload out bound LCL containers.  Assist in the receiving and loading of outbound LCL Shipments.Perform all other assigned duties.E.
